Synopsis of
Arminius the Liberator

Two thousand years ago, the mighty Roman Empire - just like many Western democracies of today - was marked by decline and corruption. The once noble and altruistic attitude of the civis romanus had given way to the coarsest and most selfish mores. The middle class had almost totally vanished. An oligarchy making a show of wealth and brutality had seized control.

Arminius: The Liberator is the story of a young Germanic prince trained to serve the Roman empire, who united the tribes of Germania in A.D.9 to defeat three Roman legions, thereby changing the course of history.

This is the true story of one man's incredible quest to defy an oppressive, all-powerful empire and lead his people to freedom. It is also one of the most amazing love stories of all times.

Arminius met and eloped with the proud and beautiful Thusnelda against her father's wishes. Her father would later betray them to the Romans - a traitor to his family and his people. In the end, Arminius was also pitted against his own brother, Flavus, who ignobly remained subservient to Rome. In a dramatic confrontation across the German river Weser, Arminius pleads for unity of all Germanic tribes.

This epic illustrates amazing parallels. Arminius's victory is a lesson to be learned by our people for our times - that unity and clear-headed focus are crucial to understanding, confronting, and somehow overcoming political tyranny and corruption.
